Great depth of field and I like the choice of the thread color and background.

I like how the shadows of the cage reinforce the image of the caged bird. The colors and focus are great.

Does Not Meet Challenge

Brilliant ... I'm not personally familiar with the phrase (hah!)

I like the choice you made with the cereal base to be colorful and textured. A little more DOF might have made it pop a bit more. 7

The penny isn't quite as sharp as I'd like and the whitespace might just be too large for the composition to work.

The grass is greener on the other side

Wonderful! Not only is it a photo where the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, there's a commentary made on the phrase because even cattle get it!

I love the evidence of weight by the way the fence is cutting into the neck. I wish the angle was just a little bit more along the fence line, but I bet it wasn't an easy shot to get. 7

A nice bucolic image. It doesn't really lend more to the phrase than the literal words.

As a composition, I find the darkness in the lower right a little distracting.

A really inventive take on this challenge. There are a number of sayings that could fit this photo (elevator doesn't go to the top, a quart shy of a gallon, etc.) but it all works.

I might have liked one more item to push the incongruity of this woman's life. The shot is great, I love the moodiness of the lighting, her dress and the DOF. 8

An Army Of One

Comment:
Besides the camo top, I'm not really get the idea of army or what she might be fighting against/for ... there's just no context (maybe if it was fashioned more like a recruitment poster). Maybe she needs a hat.

The photo is wonderfully shot, the tones and colors are great.

What a fun shot! The position of the legs really carries the relationship to the image. The colors are wonderfully vibrant and even though there's a lot of blue, it's all wonderfully distinguished.

It's a lovely shot but doesn't really have anything special that evokes the saying that it's supposed to illustrate.

Composition-wise, the earring or whatever it is on the left side of her head is a little distracting. I really like the colors and exposure, the softness of it and the highlight of her hair. 7
