Through and Throughby LENWOODBLUZComment: Nice abstract that certainly meets the challenge. The bright spots are a nice focal point but approaching a bit too bright. Not much detail in the upper right. Finally the bold black/rust border overpowers your image. |

Rusty old pipeby heidaComment: This image violates many of the traditional "standards" of artwork. It's lighter at the bottom than the top. It reads best from top-left-center toward bottom-right-center. There's no texture in the shadows. But.. having said all that (take a breath) THIS IS THE IMAGE THAT PROVES THE EXCEPTION TO THE RULE! Going against all common rules of composition and all that academic stuff - this is one of the very best images in this challenge for me. |

Window Viewby WildflowerJoyComment: A very nice find and well captured. The window-within-a-window is great. Not sure that the pole in the bottom right corner adds anything. |

Rusty smileby broken tripodComment: Great seeing to find the face in this image. The subtle colors are superb as is the "rustiness." Compositionally, the decision to place the vertical line of the doors is very unfortunate - it seperates the image into two competing sections. Evenso - a strong entry. |

Relicby michaelkComment: This image certainly shows rusted, is nicely exposed, and is reasonably presented. The colors are nice and work well together. Having said all that, I feel cheated and expect there is a better composition lurking within this one. |

A lonely rusted nail in a logby artvetComment: Wonderful textures and exposure! I'd like to see the nail not so dead-centered vertically. It would also add impact if the horizontal lines were more diagonally oriented. Overall - a very strong entry. |
