The image was made at sunrise at the dunes located just east of Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley. Death Valley is about a 7-hour drive for me - I try to get there at least once every winter. I went early this year - returning from a longer trip to the national parks of Utah.

NOTE: The request for proof page would not work for some reason, apparently related to the image size. When I tried to send the original, I kept getting "This Page is Not Available" error. The original image was only 2.34 meg - so that should have been ok. Ben (Konador) suggested I e-mail the original to him and he would notify the rest of the SC. Then, also at Ben's suggestion, I submitted a smaller version as the proof file.
