I like the lighting conditions, but this did not strike me as a very original composition. The viewers knowledge of this particular book is what holds it, instead of it's visual aspects.

nice concept, but the colors are washed out. You also could have gone with a slightly shallower depth of field to blur out the background a bit more.

flash bounced back in glasses and all the pots and pans (bad.) colors are that harsh, washed out flashy kind.

I think you should have cropped this one so that it was only the top half. It would be much more effective that way, because there is too much going on like this.

the depth of field works well with this subject. It's not generally a very photogenic subject.
