Cactus Portraitby TranquilComment: I think this would have worked better in landscape orientation. The thorns of the cactus (on the left) direct my eyes to the left, only to run into an abrupt crop. |

In the countryby nicklevyComment: Taking the photo a little earlier (if sunrise) or a bit later (if sunset) would have provided more of glow to the sky, instead of just overexposing the sun. |

Moving Out...by sfarrell23Comment: Tilting the image a bit to have the subject (the locomotive) straight would have given this a stronger composition. |

Road to paradiseby pitsamanComment: Very pretty, with a nice color matching between the walker and the scene. The only dowside is the starkly white sky on the left. |

Sunset at Half Moon Bayby wfullerComment: Very nice sunset. However, the near vertical clouds on the right and the near horizontal clouds just down from the top on the left (contrails perhaps) defeat the composition. Using these as natural guidelines, and cropping just inside them, would have made a much more dramatic shot. |

In Velvetby channeledComment: Nice shot, but two things detract from this shot for me. There is a blade of grass in the center forground that is outside the DOF (much closer to you) that is distracting and is unfortunately does not contrast very well. The second is pehaps a personal preference, but I would have waited until one of them looked up (best of all, looked in my direction). |
