Auto Parts Technologyby RfariasComment: That's an autopart?? It looks like sculpture! I may have liked a different color background...one that would emphasize the form a bit more or compliment the dark grey more. 7 Lisa |

Telecomm Industry Hawksby amonteforteComment: I really like this. The coil of line and bird seem a bit to far apart...maybe you could have asked him to move a bit :P Nice colors and contrasts. 7 Lisa |

Board or Bored of Technologyby ppritcheComment: Nice lighting and DOF. I think this would have been really cool had it been taken from a vantage point that would look like you're about to enter a maze. 7 Lisa |

radome by FrooberComment: Thanks for all the great comments...and scores :P. I have to admit this was a really poor shot prior to edits. I'm shocked that it did so well relative to the competition. Anyway, for those of you who wondered how this was done, here's my little how-to. Take an outdoor shot with your wb set for incandescent lighting and your exposure compensation down a few stops from where it should be....should yield a totally unappealing, off-colored, underexposed picture. Then hit auto levels in photoshop and mess with the curves enough to bring out a ton of grain and deepen the blues. Most importantly, run it through neat image using the default settings to eliminate the grain and produce that extra-surreal look. Finally, sharpen the image 'gently' (as a little elf would advise me) in photoshop and save for web. Maybe someday I'll possess enough skill and presence of mind to take a photo that doesn't need that much work...lol. Thanks again all! |
