Thanks for all the comments! I know that the clouds were overexposed (the sun was right behind the top of the pole), but I thought it 'worked', especially in contrast to the deep focus and the dark earth tones of the pole. I'll try it again with a late afternoon sun and puffy clouds to see what that does. Thanks again!

Congrats on the ribbon! The idea with the cue ball movement was fantastic - the reverse motion actually looks better in the photo. That is, a forward-moving ball with blur would not have been as effective; the (more) solid cue ball at the moment of impact really adds drama to the picture.

Very funny! Well composed as well; I can see the all the elements in thier respective thirds. The toothbrush is a bit blurry, but it must've been difficult holding it still under the water.
