This is my favorite of the candle shots (so far) The white balance and color look more natural than most. I like the deep black background as well. Be careful, though- Nike might get you for a trademark violation!

Very nice! I like the softness in the grass and clouds caused by the wind. Good light, too.

I think this is a great idea. I have a few suggestions on how I think this photo might be improved. First, I would make the background darker and/or blur it with a shallow DOF. Second, the white balance looks like it wasn't set correctly rendering the smoke, the skin and everything else yellow. I'm guessing this was shot with tungsten lighting but the camera's white balance setting was not changed to match. Third, the writing on the shirt is distracting and should probably be cropped out. I think some or all of these changes would result in a very striking photo.

That is a very neat tree. I like the shape and textures on it. Might I suggest a different framing/cropping of the image to either include the rear tree as a full element in the picture or eliminate it entirely to draw focus to the front tree? As it is now, my attention is torn between the two elements like I am looking at two different pictures.

Where is the wind? I would expect to see some trees moving or something to give the impression of wind. I get the feeling of Winter and cold from this shot, but not wind.

Very crisp. An interesting shot. It is an image of contrasts that makes me think- Why is this guy carrying a girly looking zebra umbrella? Ok, so a zebra umbrella isn't necessarily girly, but since it isn't raining this must be a parasol, not an umbrella and that definitely makes it girly! :) This is a fun shot. Thank you!

Interesting. I like the capture of the smoke and the lighting, except that the white balance looks off. The smoke has a yellowish tint to it instead of white. Perhaps setting the camera to a tungsten white balance (if that is what was used to light this shot) would yield truer colors.

This is an interesting arrangement, but I am not sure what it is trying to show or convey. Maybe it is just a composition of interesting objects and I am not supposed to find a deeper meaning. I feel like I am missing something, though- like the candles, flute and head have some signifcance but I can't spot it. This photo does have impact, so kudos for that, but for me the impact is a kind of weird feeling! If that was your intention, then I'd say you achieved it.

This image does capture wind, but I think an alternative approach to the subject might yield a more interesting result. The dull concrete, snow and ice don't make for a very photogenic background for this image. The glare coming off the ice in the upper left is a bit of a distraction. The static pose of the subject also leaves something to be desired. Perhaps showing the person struggling to walk against the wind with a cloudy sky or wind whipped tree in the background would add some emotion to the photo and help draw the viewer in. A shallow depth of field to blur the background if there isn't an interesting alternative might also be a good approach.
