On this image I just feel like there's a bit of contrast missing on the rocks. The shadows on the bottom don't feel right, not dark enough in my opinion.
For the rest, nice composition.

Exactly what I thought. I'm sure this shot would not've worked as well without the water.

Super, I can see the wind and the reflection is a nice touch

It was actually really hard to get the reflection, I had to get the timing JUST right and it took a lot of tries. I had a couple of photos with a better reflection, but the windmill was facing a different way. It took some time to get it right but Im happy with how everything worked out.

Well it's amazing how often it happens when you get to enter a photo of a place you've been to many times. So glad it was very well received this is 'fine art'

Thanks! And I was very excited to enter this as well. The timing of this "great" weather was very good.

I feel like the barbed wire in the frame is quite a big distraction, since it's out of focus it just looks like a random line in the frame (or at a quick glance even like a crack in the lens or something like that)
This image would've been a lot better without that in it, but nice photo anyway.

I really like the composition in this photo, the idea behind it is nice.

What I really dislike is the post processing. The colours don't fit with the mood of the image and in my opinion the image is way too gloomy and glowy. I think if you work on the colours and turn down on that glow effect this will be a great image.

It's always chancy, shooting a landscape or seascape and using a square crop, but I think it works nicely here. Lots of long straight lines here so I really like the old pilings curving away at the left top of the pier, it adds a softer effect that goes well with the colours. Gorgeous lush colours, a tiny little bit of saturation wouldn't hurt. Wonder if anyone else sees the person atop the piling at more or less where horizon and sky meet, at the left?

I do agree with the comment on the crop being a little 50/50 in terms of the horizon and sky. Decide which dominates, and crop in its favour. In this case, yes, you should have cropped out the top 1/4 of this pic and let the water and its elements have its day.

Love the settings, obvious that you used a tripod and took care to scout out a suitable pier for your purposes. That's what separates photographers from those who just shoot snapshots.

Please continue to shoot and enter, we need more work like this here!

Feel free to PM me with any questions

Thanks for the reply! This is actually a place I could visit more often, so I will take your and Jim's suggestions about the composition in mind. I might be able to go back here this weekend if the weather will be nice. It's about 1.5KM of sailing away from the campsite I'm on nearly all year, so visiting again shouldn't be a problem.
I actually have a photo in my portfolio of the same spot, and one other spot. All 3 are within 1.5KM of the campsite, which is really cool. This part of the Netherlands is full of lakes and channels, and if you search enough it offers some REALLY cool locations, I'm excited to post on more challenges in this site.

EDIT: I actually entered a one of those locations in this months Free Study challenge, so I guess you'll see it pop up there ;)
