Cotton Candy.by surajbharComment: Very dramatic. I like the three layers of clouds. You had to be in just the right place at just the right time. As a pilot I am not bothered about the slanted horizon, but some may be. It may offend some people's sense of gravity, but it works. Why is that? Good job. Among my top 5 picks. (8) |

Whipped creamby sailinghuComment: I grew up in Montana and whenever we would see sky like this we would run for home. Hail or tornadoes on the way. The composition, focus, colors and levels are in virtually perfect resonance with my childhood reality. Great capture. (8) |

Natural Selectionby GordonComment: I love this photo. It is reminescent of Salvadore Dali's surrealistic paintings and sculpture. I could only suggest a timy bit more contrast. From my view point, one of the top 3 photos this time around. And the only bug-shot worth a darn! Good luck. (9) |

On guardby mannenComment: LOVE the expression on the bug. Bet that took a few tries! The hue and saturation of the bug and the buds is very similar. I lose some of the bug. Not much you can do about it however. Hope this does well. good luck. |

I am a Flowerby unknowndeathComment: I like the image. The comp is good but possibly a bit too centered. Colors are great. The image seems a little noisy to me. Could you clean it up with Neat Image or some such? I actually like he noise on the petals but the noise on the blue is a bit distracting. Another possibility would be to trim a bit off the left ... eliminate the blue and adjust the over centered comp all in one go. Still a beautiful image and worthy of recognition. Good luck. |

Out of the Blueby ZoomdakComment: I like the way the droplet focus light and therefore focuses the background behind it. Wonderfully captured. Probably unavoidable, but the two white streaks on the bottom third of the image distact a bit. Consider using advanced editing to prepare this as a print. |

Extraordinary Beeby CantiqueComment: Nice composition for the bee. Blends in a bit with the flower colors. Not you can do about where the bee lands. :) |

And from other side she is blueby kinksComment: This must have been a very difficult shot. Butterflies tend not to stand still. It looks a little grainy -- wonder if Neat Image or some such would have helped. The image would be improved by a sharper focus on the wings ... probably just not possible due to movement. If we could have used advanced editing, I might have tried blurring the background a bit more. As is, the DoF is great! |

Not just a pond.by Polar7Comment: Very pleasant picture, nicely composed. Colors are soothing. Levels and contrast are good. These led me to score it higher than the subject (not that extraordinary) will be scored by oithers. |

Loving the Extraordinaryby Manish ShrivastavaComment: Nice image. Good focus and levels. Like the subject even if it's a little disturbing. It might be improved by cropping about 15% off the left side giving a square or nearly square image. And I would recommend maxing the dimensions to 640 pixels. Larger photos show more detail, look better as thumbnails, and tend to score higher. Good capture and good luck in the voting. It's a worthy image. |
