The border turns me off a bit. It's well balanced enough, like a good mat, but the photo edges are a bit cliched. Against the stark white, the body of the photo looks dim by comparison. The diagonal composition is the trickiest composition for me and I have a lot of trouble making it work. In this case, it doesn't help highlight the subject very well. Sorry to seem negative. I'm relatively new to this so these are just my opinions.

This was a good thumbnail but the full size image lets me down. Focus is fine. Color makes my teeth hurt. Composition doesn't stimulate my interest. Sorry to sound negative.

My problem with this photo is the focus. I can't really find anything in sharp focus. If the boy's eyes were sharply focused, for example, it would raise this 3 or 4 points for me.

This is extraordinary. The contrast really reveals the texture of the skin. Composition is terrific. Color conveys to me a quiet wisdom with an edge of sadness to it. This gives it a lot of emotional punch. A top ten for sure and one of my top picks this challenge.

I especially like the constrast between foreground and background. Very start. Almost surreal. I like that the background sky is varied and not just one blown out white space. It feels like you've rotated the image. If so, it was a good choice. If not, it was well captured as is. Great job. Among my top picks.
