Crude Movesby jbsmithanaComment: I can't articulate all the reasons I like this so much, but I do. Partly it makes very good use of white points and black points. The focus and deep DOF are technically excellent. Composition with the reflections and the subject ships is strong. Among my top picls. Hope it ribbons ! |

Back-Street Orangeby peeceeComment: I spotted this photo right away when I began voting. In my view, it is exceptional. It's not exactly your happy happy shot that might do well here. But it has a very strong composition. I like the busy top half juxtaposed with the empty bottom half ... sort of a life and death image. The color works very well. It feels late and lonely on the street ... like I'd want to be indoors where it is warm and bright. The focus and deep DOF is terrific. In the end ... all the technicalities are virtually perfect. But it's better than that ... it conveys deep emotional impact. My top pick! |

Big Headby incubusComment: Clevr idea. Background detracts significantly IMO. |

Body Partby kevrobertsonComment: I suppose you chose the focus on purpose but I prefere photos where something is in sharp focus (deduct points). It draws my eye and helps me extract meaning from it. The photo feels unbalanced to me, with a bit too much dark space on the right (deduct points). The red color adds drama and makes for a more emotional feel (add points for emotional impact). |

Beauty-Fullby NukktaComment: Workmanlike image technically. Composition and subject aren't very interesting to me. I CAN however see this in a commercial ad with some text superimposed on the left or possibly with a different background. |

A sad horseby mannjuditComment: I like the focus and composition. Bit too much post processing for my taste but it's only my opinion. |

Part #4007 - Right legby spitz66Comment: Well, it's a part. Focus is interesting (leg in focus mostly and foot with motion blur). But overall there's not enough going on her to hold my interest. |

tractor tireby UniversalTheoryComment: There is a certain drama here. The (oversaturated) red is in sharp contrast to the black and white of the tire. Composition is fine. It has a grittiness I like, in small doses. Focus could use a little work and I think I would like it better if the ground wasn't quite so blown out. |

Part of 1 all of 2by fotodudeComment: I suspect no photo of a dictionary definition will ever do well here unless there is something else going on. In this case, I see the disctionary page as "part" of the frame. Add points for creativity. The words (and the page itself) look flat. Not enough here to hold my interest (deduct points). And the title is confusing (deduct points). I'm relatively new at this so these are just opinions. Sorry to seem negative. |

not what i'm worthby bk247Comment: It's probably my failure but I don't resonate with this. The partial words at the bottom of the photo are distracting. The color shift from the bottom 1/3 to the top 2/3 thirds is confusing. I am looking at part of a camera and part of a person, so I guess it meets the challenge, but I'm not sure what you're trying to convey. Your title adds to the confusion. I guess I'm just lost here, sorry. |
