beach-grass-wide-IMG_0370.jpgby Bear_MusicComment: Nice shots, Robert. I have to agree with the others and I love my 10-22, too. What a Alienyst and Justin don't seem to realize is that the DOF automatically grows to enormous depths with an extremely short focal length. That's why compact digital cameras with a short zoom fail to produce even the faintest touch of OOF back- or foreground (except maybe in macro mode or fully zoomed to the tele end with a huge difference in distance between lens and subject and lens and fore- or background respectively). The Fuji 602 I used before I got my 20D was the equivalent of a 35-210 but the focal length of the lens was something like a 6 to 36 and it was only at the full tele end that you could make a little use of DOF as a creative element in your pictures. Now with the 10-22 it's similar, i.e. you can hardly get OOF elements in your picture, even when the lens is wide open, BECAUSE the short focal length doesn't allow for anything but huge DOF.
Sorry if I sound preachy here, was just wondering if people realize that the DOF is practically out of the photographer's control when it comes to using a 10mm lens.
Cheers,
Bruno |

7 Faces Of Wby gustoComment: nice, sharp picture. however, I only ever saw the dude with his one annoying face... I'm glad it's not 7 more years. and I bet you knew this kind of comment was coming your way, right? I give you a 5 |

seven stepsby brunasComment: very nice shot, but I wouldn't exactly consider the steps the main subject here. |

Seven Cranes in the Distanceby TranquilComment: nice picture, reminds me of one of my own... too bad the seven part is not very convincing (I count anywhere between 4 and 10) and the cranes aren't exactly the main subjects. |

Grapes!by KeysComment: nice composition. grapes might look a little more natural with less JPEG compression. Your file can be up to 150KB, this is just over 15! I'm not particularly fond of the shallow DOF in this image. |

Shiver me timbersby connieComment: not that I would have counted to seven here, if it wasn't for the challenge title, but a very nice shot - 7 |
