The Underpassby rooumComment: I really want to examine the abstract quality of this image but it is so dark, I am thwarted. Great textures, angles, geometric shapes. Nice sharp image. Perhaps a tiny tweak in curves would have made it more explorable? Forgive me, but a four from me because of the darkness not your eye. |

cosmic seedingby herfotomanComment: Fascinating plant. The baubles of the flare compliment the colorful buds (Are they buds?) and the diaphanous quality of the stem. Six. |

hay streetby gaeranComment: Great B&W tonal range. The vignette helps direct the eye down the board walk but, for me personally, it is just too discordant. Still, a noteworthy effort. Five from me. |

#Birdmanby odriewComment: Truly a "wow" moment of synchronicity. What a fortuitous capture. Wish the horizon (water) could have been level. A level horizon is something with which I struggle so I suppose I'm a little more alert to the slight tilt here. Nonetheless, a most captivating image. Five from me. |

live girlsby tvsometimeComment: If, when preparing for this challenge, you visited Mr. Beguin's web site, he has a section "Binomes - in pairs" where he sometimes matched humans against signs. I nearly flipped when I saw this shot; not only did it reflect inspiration by Mr. Beguin, this is in full stride* with his style. I heartily applaud this image. Wish I could rate it higher, but I'll have to settle for ten.
*Pun slightly intended. |

Wise Men on the Beachby jjbeguinComment: While I, personally, am having difficulty with the perspective - can't orient myself - I very much enjoy its abstract quality. Six. |

Embeddedby gotrondComment: Interesting find. Perhaps a bit too centered for the crop. I think Advanced Rules would allow for you to clone out the black specs. Not sure that I see much of an Orton Effect applied - especially on the pine cone itself, still I like the marked textural change from the prickly pine cone to the cottony snow. Five. |
