Aquamarineby SinkyComment: Greetings from the Critique Club!
I can't see anything wrong with your photo technically. It is focused, well enough composed, and the exposure is spot on.
What made you scrore low(er) is your subject matter. There is nothing to grab the viewer's attention. Looking at you photo, all you see is a few marbles in a glass(?). There's nothing interesting / compelling / striking enough about your subject to make the user take a second look. That fact almost surely lowered your score. Even the most technically perfect photo is nothing without a compelling subject. And that's what viewer's focused on in your image.
Having a technically photo is only half the battle, choosing the right subject is the rest of the equation. This being only your second challenge submission, I think you're only direction to go is up. I look forward to your future submissions! |

James Bond's Assassinationby labudsComment: Here and I see it as a miniature bomb stuck inside a martini olive!! Take a bite and go boom! Which would definately fit the James Bond "gadgety" feel of the films. |

plush by jus6681Comment: It's quite common for my favorite to win to come up short, and a photo that makes me think "it's 'OKAY' but not ribbon worthy" to win.
Them's the breaks... congrats on the red. |

James Bond's Assassinationby labudsComment: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the laser trail wasn't even necessary! :) When I first look at this image I thought woah cool! But what's that red trail?!? What I saw was a miniature bomb stuck inside a martini olive!! Take a bite and go boom! Which would definately fit the James Bond "gadgety" feel of the films. Using the laser for the red glow of the olive would ensure it met the challenge, and eliminate the need for having to edit-in a "laser trail".
But I digress, this comment comes over a year after the challenge. :) |

Old and Weatheredby beautyqn25Comment: I have a feeling you're going to get a lot of comments about the photo being "crooked". I normally would've been one of them. But for whatever reason it really works with this shot if it's crooked at all. |
