End of winter on a roof...by RebTheRebelComment: I'm not sure what that thing is in this photo, and I'm not sure I WANT to know. ;) Photo makes viewer feel like a voyeur, peeking out from behind blurred object in foreground (cool), unfortunately I'm not rewarded for all my stealthy effort with a subject of greater interest or texture. The viewer really, REALLY needs this payoff since the majority of this pic is blurred. This idea might work really well in another challenge. Keep it up! |

Tree Branchby wee_agComment: Not much interesting going on in this photo, especially at focal point where the viewer's eyes are drawn because of selective focus. Look deeper for subjects with greater visual interest, texture, patterns, etc. Geez, I sound like a Chinese fortunate cookie!!! Keep pluggin' away! :) |

Harmonyby RoosterComment: Very cool subject matter has real potential. Photo could use some light bounced in from shadow side to open up some detail in otherwise pitch black shadows. Rim lighting would help separate subject from background as well. Frame/compose in closer for greater impact and to leave out distracting vertical tan piece on righ-hand side. Keept it up! :) |

I do...by KerryComment: Satin fabric lends itself well to softer focus, but hurts the preconception that a diamond (the focal point of this pic) should always be hard and sharp. Perhaps bring ring to forground and let the fabric fall into soft focus. Rather monotone overall, with not much contrast, which lessens the impact of this particular subject, making the ring disappear in a sea of like-colored satin. |

Agedby HRoxasComment: Nice composition and closeup. Others might have shot the entire frame and lost the impact of it's texture and details. |

Aged Deminby Everyday ReneeComment: Nice closeup. Whatever is in the background that is partially filling up the button hole really clutters and detracts from an otherwise clean shot. |

Textures of Musicby deegeComment: I agree that music has texture (audibly), but visually this pic just doesn't show any texture of interest. If it's there, it's too far away to appreciate. Closer next perhaps? I think you've captured a good "mood" here, though. :) |

Terracesby bobgaitherComment: Finally! A wide angle, non-closeup photo that actually WORKS with the Texture theme! Woohoo! :) |

Denim Rainbowby Patents4uComment: Cool shot. Really like the idea and how you controlled the light that fell on your subject. |

Layers.....by DrakeComment: Soft focus is in conflict with the sharp edged subject, lessening the overall feel of it's texture. Highlights look blownout on lower right side of photo as well. |
