Rhodochrosite - surreal rocksby cathysappComment: Someone after my own heart. I used to own a beautiful pair of twinned rhodochrosite crystals... better than anything in the Smithsonian. Great job with the lighting. Dunno how surreal it is, though... |

dreamby FigoComment: The muted colors and contrasty effect really do make this surreal. I wish some of the background objects were more recognizable. 7 |

Cold Callsby codauberComment: Good idea. Pity you could find a cleaner area to place the phone. |

Hot Lipsby clare71Comment: Clever and well-executed. I'm not sure if the background cluster adds to or detracts from the scene, but I suppose a single pepper wouldn't be recognizable. Nice job. 8 |

Resurrectionby aznymComment: The bizarre distortions are appropriate, but don't appeal to me personally. The circular lines throughout the image are curious. Some kind of filter? |

Red Bird in Blizzardby petspicsComment: The contrasting colors are good, but not an especially surreal scene. If you hung strange objects in the tree, that would be more surreal. As is, all the branches form a "messy" image, which rarely scores well. |

MORNING SMILEby grainman9Comment: A good, surreal idea (and nice illustration). With better lighting, I think a color version of this might make the top 10. |

Pasta tapby RUEDISCHMUTZComment: Spa-ghetti? Clever idea, somewhat diminished by the uneven lighting. I think this concept could have been stunning with a more traditional-looking (metal) faucet, flowing into a "pool" of other pasta types, with some dishes poking through. Please don't forget to take your medication. ;-) |
