Challenge: Surrealism (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Nikon D70
Lens: Nikon AF Zoom-Nikkor 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED
Location: Dublin Ireland
Date: Mar 2, 2005
Aperture: f/8
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/60s
Galleries: Abstract, Portraiture
Date Uploaded: Mar 2, 2005

Flash extender was mounted on the camera lens.
The rings in the image are the concentric circles from the fresnel lens. I could make the rings less obvious by not sharpening this much, but I like the rings and I actually sharpened a lot to show them.

SB-800 was placed to the side and fired remotely using D70's commander mode. The light beams are reflections from the fresnel lens.

nice work here - do you listen to Pink Floyd? a few of your images remind me of typical album cover art from that crew.

Its a great concept and photo. I won't say that it should have done better, but I'll say "This is DPC".

Wow - this is an extraordinary concept and execution and I gave it one of my highest scores in this challenge. Shows how much you and I know. ;-)

Hard to believe this scored as low as it did, but then, it is DPC!

Quite interesting and very captivating. 7 Another bumb because this image imparts a sense of despair with the single element. Good work.

The bizarre distortions are appropriate, but don't appeal to me personally. The circular lines throughout the image are curious. Some kind of filter?

Intriguing - especially the circular lines of texture. Wish I had a clue what those white areas are though I appreciate that in surrealism I don't need to know...

Cool idea. Was this taken through a TV movie? Or perharps on yourself? I'm curious as to how to did the spiraling effect?!. Colours are interesting and composition is interesting. I do not think of this as surreal tho. 6

Truly art meets photography. The Scream comes back to us through photography.

Too abstract, not very "surreal" I am afraid. Nice image though.

I like this pic. Great composition. The "grain" works well IMO in this case. Not sure if I like the bright "spikes"(?), like to see it without them. Nice job.
