'The Wind in the Willows'by notbiscuitComment: A fun shot and you must have spent some time setting this lot up? I think you have filled the frame well, the exposure looks good to me and the little light is a nice touch - nice one :) |

Deep water (Patricia Highsmith)by imagine74Comment: Revisiting for my final look and comment. Lovely colour of the Sea and I think the forground foliage and touch of beach adds a lot of interest. The far off landmass looks good in the mist and that leads us out to sea nicely :) (bumping up 1) |

We companies are all birds of prey, mere birds of prey. C. Dickens - Martin Chuzzlewitby olddjComment: Looks like you had some harsh light to contend with there and reckon you did well to lose just that little bit of detail. I thinmk if this was a little sharper it would have fared much better that it probably will. You have the catchlight and a little doging would really bring it out. a well seperated background and a nice bokeh :)Rather than merely cropping this to a square I think it fits the image well with your chosen composition - well done (bumping up 1) |

Standing Tallby rexComment: Hi Rex, its me again ;)
Now, am not sure its worth commenting on this pic, its all be said before and I'm pretty sure if I challenged you to return to the scene (if its possible) you could do wonders here and imho a 2:1 portrait aspect ratio would add more of a sense of vasteness :) |

Reflectingby rexComment: Well lets start my mini commenting spree on your highest scoring challenge entry (to date!) I hope things don't just downhill from here lol.
The 180 degree flip literally turns this shot around! Pawns are nice and sharp and I like the fact the background goes from white to blue. The board doesn't look perfectly level and for me its niggling (slightly). A simple shot but often the hardest to execute well, its well thought out and executed :) |
