I really like your composition here but as has been said already the main stem should be in sharp focus, as it was advanced editing I'm thinking the gaussian blur isn't the reason for the lack of sharpness? |

Stream of Lightby wavelengthComment: Coming from my 1-4-0 thread ...
Steve, this type of shot isn't my favourite and it took me a moment to realise quite what it was (I was thinking abstract). IMHO thats a good thing as I spent more time viewing the shot. Looking at the commenters average vote of 7.889 you have a decent market for this type of work.
If the water was right I'd have preferred the protuding rock to have been in the bottom third of the shot but I guess thats a size of image issue? |

home sweet homeby Elvis_LComment: Borders are not my thing (I've messed up in many a challenge) and for me this border takes away something of the image. I like the simplicity of the shot and you have nice clouds with a lush green treeline. My recently calibrated LCD monitor doesnt pick up the detail of the dark part of the house unless I move 45 degrees and whilst I'm sure its straight the treeline does make is skew to the left slighty. |

The Dunce Capby LERtasticComment: Coming from my 1-4-0 thread ...
I can see why this is your (current) favourite shot Cyler, the bg is great but I must dissagree with the crisp focus comment below, yes, the wall is fantastic but for me Trevors hair is a little soft.
Both the challenge name and the title (for me) would be better depicted if Trevor was facing a corner as was mentioned during the challenge comments and maybe a wider angle.

Hi again, I'm inclined to turn the tables and ask you to comment on this shot! Don't do last minute entries, I've seen them ribbon but you and I don't get that lucky. Nice (though sordid) idea but the bg is messy and the focus doesn't seem sharp in the right places. Melissa might have nice knees but there is no reason to include one in this shot. |

Leading to Nowhereby LERtasticComment: comment from my 1-4-0 thread
Hi Cyler, This isn't a striking image for me though fits the challenge of green and does lead you nicely into (and out of) the image. You and others have mentioned the sky so I won't, however, the other bit that bothers me is that the front post is not as sharp as I'd have liked. Forget the challenge and maybe revisit the area with a better sky and clone out the pilon wires and those three sticky up things. |

Jennifer, have never taken glamour type shots (just looked at them lol) so I guess my views will be of the wrong type? (and bitching from you whooping my ass in the LoD!)
First off, a good looking model with a great figure :) nice dof but feel a lower angle would work better and I always hear its all in the eyes? I'd prefer wide open eyes and a beaming smile for this type of shot. My last thought is her bikini bottom is cut off and think this would be improved if there was more of her (nice) hips showing, maybe if you were lower and to the right more it would have more impact.

Body Heatby manic35Comment: I think the colour really helps this shot meet the challenge. Great composition and lighting. Me thinks dpc voters will vote this high? (bumping to 7) |
