Day 6by taljComment: Coming from this thread I don't suppose you thought this would be my choice T?
Ok, not a brilliant shot (guess its one of yours T) but it does spark thoughts/memories. I met Graham through our love of the Roadster and Talj through our love of photography - its good to have friends :) |

Waiting for the Time of Grace . .by JedusiComment: Hey Steve, loved the poem and pic and whilst I see its from your layers collection I'd have liked to have seen the image without the poem overlay.
Very emotive image, maybe moreso if the opacity of the text was reduced a little? |

hopeby GordonComment: Gordon, viewing the thumbnail my initial thought was 'hope' so was not suprised to see it was the title!
Forgetting for a moment that it should have been a 6+ and easily a top 50 shot not 100+ I think you have a great portrait here. I love the softness and almost high key effect, its adds to the naivety thus hope of your subject. I want to be able to see what baby is bewildered by and the bg is spot on! |

Questionsby glad2badadComment: Hey Barry, 11th place is always hard, so near yet so far ;)
You definately depicted high contrast here, love the shot and think all the gravestones look really good (that reads wrong). There seems to be something funky going on in the grass and its a little offputting for me as my eyes keep getting from your son/gravestone. I've been playing with some cards and do think that a tight crop to your son helps draw me in to the shot |

Day 13by aliquiComment: Hi Michelle, first off I do like it when people spot and photograph subjects that most of us would walk past dismissing it as boring. I'm suprised the dof is so shallow at F/10 and with this composition (which I really like) I think having the foreground in sharp focus would have worked better?
love the colour, espcially as its dead |

Blood Testby BAMartinComment: Yes Barbara, this certainly 'moved' me! And, for those that view this without knowing the background you should read this. (I've just re read it). |

Once Abandonedby BujanxComment: Ouch Kurtis, imho this should have scored above a 5.5 and should have been your first 6 score (am sure its not far away). Am guessing many of the voters were wanting to see abandoned buildings rather than people (I gave it a 7).
I've spent much longer looking at this shot than I did during voting and agree with vxpra that the hat is probably redundant in this shot. I like the surroundings you chose and think your model has done a great job of setting the mood. Whilst the entire scene helps meet the challenge a closer crop of her may have scored better for you - very nice :) |

Houses are never aloneby MephistoComment: Hi Christoph, Love the lighting and colours here (I have a dark monitor btw). People are often put off with centered subjects but I think it works well here and am nicely drawn toward the garden. I think the outside is very well exposed considering the difference.
The model could be someone who grew up in this house and has returned, remembering the times she was there as a girl. |

Me and the Skyby freakin_hilariousComment: And another vote for 'feeble'? what are you talking about, I like it, it poses lots of questions like, what are you looking at?, what are you thinking?, where are you? are you a giant and the fotog is a midget? why is your nose so big? |

Flower Prisonby pointandshootComment: Sometimes I think these lenses are so good at creating 'Art' you can point the cam at anything and turn out a printable shot. I think this is great as I (the viewer) am forced to go back in time to imagine how the rest of the room looks. |
