Thanks for the pile of comments :), I guess not everybody in this challenge was that open minded after all.

Very nice motive, but I'm not sure the light is used well. I think it needs another source of light from the left side... that way the shadows would be softer.

Very good. You have managed to make the ugly thing not so ugly. In my opinion, the lower part of the picture should have been cropped. It spoils it.
