the simple things

A colorful photo. Is it a good example of complementary colors? I don't think so. The orange and green crayons in the foreground could have helped satisfy the challenge topic if they were more present in the picture, perhaps. The objects and the top distract, the white to the right seems unnecessary--perhaps cropping in a bit more would have improved this composition.

The colors are there. The composition has merit. However I'd like to see the entire blossom in focus. The stamen seem overexposed.

The blossom has a great deal of character and depth. The lighting on the bloom is dull, however. The background tree is somewhat distracting. Noise lends a bit of an old-fashioned feel to the subject, just too many distractors to make this an exception rendering of the subject.

The colors are a bit weak for the challenge topic. The square crop compliments the circular composition, but the subject itself does not carry a great deal of interest or appeal for me.

The color is there. The painting with light is an interesting choice. It appears that long-exposure may have created some problems for the success of this image, however, as evidenced by the burnt out pixels, the noise and the muddy background.

Cute expression. Interesting framing of the subject. The dirt on the dogs face is moderately distracting. To me, black and white are not complementary colors.
