just a shell of a shotby roby21112Comment: Wow! That really looks like a hand grasping a rolled papaer! If that extra little piece of shell was not there it would be hard to tell this isn't a sculpture. Nice in B&W too! |

Bubbles in Gelby stargazerComment: Interesting light and color in the bubbles. It seems by both your title and the inclusion of the bottom of the bottle that you are trying to explain the context? Perhaps you hadn't decided if this worked as an abstract or needed a point of interest. Sometimes it's just fun to look at the way light plays, isn't it? |

Tlinget Beaver braceletby camelotnorthComment: Lovely subject. Blue is a perfect choice for the background, but it would be nice if it filled the space behind. A light tent would help minimize the harsh shadow and hot spots which pull the eye away from the work of interest. |

henby br1mcComment: I never realized hens had "eyebrows"! It would be nice if the eye were just a bit crisper. Might do without the waddle on the right--closer crop. Tough shot to get, I'm sure! |

The Cats Meowby aerogurlComment: This has a great deal of graphic appeal! I like the effect of sharpening, making it almost posterized. Lovely color in the eyes plays off the otherwise nearly monochomatic composition. (You must have a patient cat to put up with that--or are you scarred?) |

Glowing Amethyst Crystalby newtune3Comment: Beautiful texture. Wish the color were more of the lavendar I associate with amethyst --but only because you mentioned it in your title. Nice idea. Like the shape of the one crystal that looks like a pyaramid. |

Dexterityby jazzmikComment: The first time I looked at this I had no idea what it was--this morning it's as clear as daylight. Obviously a tricky subject! Like the symmetry of the composition, but the gap between the balls seems too far apart...it justs keeps drawing me to it. |

No Photos Allowed!by dmscroComment: Really wish this were larger so I could see the reflection better--it's kinda cool. Interesting color and focus. |

Show them the wayby LatteComment: Originally posted by Latte: the scene-stealer? Did you mean the bird shadow on the wall? |
Well, yes, I guess I did. The shadow is so large in relation to the birds perched on the building that, to me, it looked like another bird (out of focus)in the foreground. |

Basic Toolsby jvdpcComment: What a pleasing rendition of these familiar objects. I think this image is a great example of the suggestion to get close to one's subject, no get closer. Just enough here to convey the idea. Nice!
Lighting is expertly handled. Focus is spot on. Composition has a pleasant geometry. |
