... encroaching ...by tonyvComment: Living in outer suburbia, and having posted a similar shot a couple of years ago I can understand the sentiment. I like the difference in constrast. |

Life is every single stepby tulipComment: I like the concept - similar to what I originally thought of. I think a different composition might have drawn the viewers attention to the lady better though. Black and white effect is good and sharpness is good |

Fireman facing the "beast"by spunckenComment: Lovely moody dramatic shot. Could be at one of the bush-fires here in Australia. I love the composition and colour, sharpness is wonderful. It perhaps doesn't convey "City" very much, but other than that it's perfect. Definitely at the top-end of the results in my opinion. |

January Sales Circa 2006by kevrobertsonComment: There's plenty of "Life" in this shot! I like the composition very much. The sepia is a nice touch and the simple black border really works. It almost looks a touch over-sharpened but it's difficult working with such small image sizes. Great title too - good work. |

Chicagoby bigfishComment: Nice work capturing night lights without over-exposing. Unfortunately the bright lights near the bottom draw my attention away from the buildings without adding much to the shot. Perhaps a title like "Cities don't sleep" might have portrayed the "Life" component of the challenge more. |

The City of Joyby abhraComment: I'm assuming the title is sarcasm? Because the image doesn't portray "Joy" to me. I love the black and white effect, I love the composition (the person really makes the shot and covers the "Life" component of the challenge) and I like the high-contrast chosen. Best photo I've seen so far. Worthy of printing. |

Christmas windowsby burtctComment: Hmm - Myers Christmas windows in Melbourne. I like the composition, and the inclusion of a person (covers the "Life" criteria in my opinion) and the colours make the shot interesting. Good work. |

nyc through the eyes of a messengerby samhallComment: Great concept. Are they really cycling into the traffic, or stationary beside parked cars? Composition is good. The colours are quite flat (ie: lacking in contrast) but it kind of adds to the shot - kind of says "NYC isn't that nice/happy/exciting right now for me". Great work. |

Territory at Nightby butch81385Comment: I like the moody colours - suits the gang theme. The un-level horizon is more distracting rather than adding to the mood though and there is no real focus point. |
