city on celebrationby DocendoDiscimusComment: Great fireworks shot - I was expecting to see more given the timing of New Years in this challenge. This is the best one I've seen so far though and I'm two-thirds of the way through. I like the colour and I like the framing you chose - cutting the edges off some of the fireworks is totally acceptable. |

Under the Bridgeby pibbyComment: It looks a bit more Country than City to me - but I guess different people have different ideas of what City is. Perhaps having the top of the roadway perfectly horizontal would have made this image stronger - the steeping at this low resolution is a bit distracting. Other than that, it's a pretty good shot. |

Urban Reality by Patents4uComment: Great work - busy image, harsh constrast, no colour - really makes a statement. I really like this shot - I'm not offended or upset at all about shots of the city like this. Keep up the good work. |

Being alone..by docpjvComment: That's a pretty cool shot - the colour is so rich and the silky smooth water from such a long exposure really give this photo a surreal quality. The title might have had even more impact if not for the two people on the extreme left. Good work though - I really like it. |

innocenceby valenzuelamauricioComment: Your title is "innocence" and the children are having fun in the water, but the shot has a gloomy sort of look to it - partly from the black+white and partly from the low contrast. I'm not sure why you made this choice. |

aerie-alby ssanComment: This picture looks quite grainy. Is this the result of having to work at 100% of the original image or perhaps re-colouring of the image? Interestingly, your border ties in with the solid black lines present in this image quite well. |

New York City Side Streetby suristaComment: This photo is quite dark and there appears to be an absence of "Life" even though there is plenty of "City". Also, because the clouds are so white compared to the buildings they keep drawing my attention. Composition is good though - I like the symmmetry and the way the buildings lead you up the street. |

A Main Street (downtown) Cattle Truck in an Australian Big-Small Cityby LeighroyComment: I like the photo (partly because I'm an Australian)... The slight blurring is good - really adds an element of interest to the shot that would be lacking otherwise. Your title is fairly confusing, perhaps something like "Bringing the cows into the city" or "Moving from the country to the city" or something similar might have worked? |

Crossingsby ImagineerComment: Nice work - so many different elements combined into the one shot. Crossings is a good title. Black+white was probably a very wise decision, otherwise there would have been too much going on in the shot - it's already very busy without colour. The slightly soft contrast (rather than vivid black and white extremes) also works well for me, makign the shot less aggressive. |

Buffalo City Hallby photogrlComment: The deep blue sky works wonderfully - this shot has great colour from the red/orange road to the yellow (attention grabbing) building to the blue sky. It's a shame about the traffic lights and poles though - they kind of cut right through the building. I wonder if you could have recomposed slightly to fix this - maybe not though. |
