we walk the sandsby daisydavidComment: Wonderful collection of four complementary photographs. For a small set you have given us a lot to study. |

sunday (1)by tnunComment: Three of a perfect pair. I'd enjoy these more as a triptych or adjacent to one another. Such wonderful light! |

You Are Hereby ubiqueComment: Paul, this is a wonderful contribution to DPC and street photography in general. It’s rare to see this much insight into how an image was created. We agree that better images find you and not vice versa. I also enjoy taking and viewing what you’ve called Gonzo photography. If done well they can be eye openers. That being said I feel documentary photography has more staying power. Maybe even better with time like a fine bottle of red wine. This classic style of street photography will always have its place. How we evolve as a society needs to be documented. All those classic shots by Frank, Cartier-Bresson, Erwitt and many others were once just candids of what happened everyday. Even with their documentary style you can see a little Ganzo here and there. I appreciate both and always enjoy your contributions to DPC. |

Nine Blocksby PaulComment: Nice collection of images and the grid framing is appealing for your story. You handled the self imposed square crop constraint well. I like your decision to have your subjects looking out of the grid. Some of may favorite street photography leaves me wondering what is just outside of the frame. Thanks! -1-by 2mccsComment: Interesting effect created by your image overlay and/or post processing. Easy to get lost in this collection. I can't help wonder what your inspiration was and what you hope we take away. Maybe it's as you intended and the less we know the better. A very mice addition to the side challenge. |
