I enjoyed your essay. The variations in presentation kept things moving nicely. Monochrome helped convey the personal traits and experiences. Iâm not sure you could have achieved the same effect with color. Very nice!

I believe Don didnât mind your image titled âGrievingâ but thought your essay shouldnât end on this emotion.

The ambiguity of your images works well with your poetry. I always enjoy your essays because your approach is so different than mine. Diversity in style and POV makes this side challenge so attractive.

Iâm not qualified to critique your writing but feel the DPC gallery isnât doing your work justice. When I see text on an image I think greeting card or advertisement. In book format, with opposing pages, it would be easy to separate the two. Maybe a consistent banner across the bottom? My other nitpick is your text varies in font size and color. For me, your writing is as if not more important than your imagery.

Borders and edges is a terrific subject for an essay. There are so many directions you could have taken this idea. The cemetery with its fences, plot lines, and grave markers is a compelling topic. Life itself, the ultimate edge or border, stays in mind while studying the physical characteristics of Lakeview. You shared personal commentary and unexpected observations which kept things moving nicely. I particularly liked the flower petals spread over the fresh red grave dirt. Very well done!
