A great piece of writing and images to suit. The 'edges' theme is one that i'm very much fond of. Those liminal states of landscape and mind. I very much enjoyed this. |

Borders and edges is a terrific subject for an essay. There are so many directions you could have taken this idea. The cemetery with its fences, plot lines, and grave markers is a compelling topic. Life itself, the ultimate edge or border, stays in mind while studying the physical characteristics of Lakeview. You shared personal commentary and unexpected observations which kept things moving nicely. I particularly liked the flower petals spread over the fresh red grave dirt. Very well done!

I was struck by two kinds of edges. One, physical, with markers, walls, fences (with and without clutter); the other, intangible, between the lives of the departed and those who remain and have a connection (the caretakers and those who leave items behind (whether trash or trinkets). The series says as much about the latter as the former, with a range of lingering cares to thoughtlessness expressed by what is left behind. |

your theme of edges gives a conceptual "edge" to the essay that makes it memorable |
