fortressby 4trtoneComment: Pure poetry. Just a lovely composition, something that I would have walked past without seeing has been saved by your way of seeing. Subtle and beautifully framed. |

Precision Approach by tjmuellerComment: Definitely the best critter shot in the challenge, you cant beat eagles and getting two of them in range is a stroke of fortune, capturing them at just the right moment speaks of skill. My only knock is the saturation of the sky. I know this is the color of the sky when captured with long glass on a clear day, but it is just so jarring that I feel it hurts the image, the purity of the color wrestles the eye away from these magnificent birds. Had you muted the blue down a bit, or gone whole hog and converted to B&W (as I did with my much more prosaic bird shot with the over blue sky) it would have been the pick for the top spot. As is top five. |

Our Love Nestby jellybellyComment: I wonder why you included the stone on the right in the composition instead of framing it with more brick to the left. That said this is one of my top 3 great subtle colors and i can practically feel the textures. The tones of the quatrefoil really set off the pigeons feathers and the way their eye colors tie into the colors in the bricks is just great. Im guessing blue. |

Urban Reclamation: Nature Fights Backby PenelopeKComment: This image lacks critters, so this may get overlooked in the voting, but this one has all the goods. The subtle colors are beautifully handled, the framing is great and the textures are amazing. Top 3 for me |

Minty Mojitoby tomeComment: the yellow color cast is very distracting. I like some of the textures and tones here but the cast is throwing me off. |

soloby bspurgeonComment: tough to score this one. It is a lovely shot with real drama and stunning blur, but while I know this type of bird is largely an urban creature, there is nothing else in the frame to anchor the assumption. |

The Towerby daisydavidComment: A nice complex image with lots of color and detail, but while I see nature, I have no idea where this is; while it has power lines I have never seen towers like that in an urban setting. |

Shadows of nature on the wallby NeatComment: There is a delicacy of tone, texture, and subject matter, and the quiet play of shadows. not exactly classic DPC eyecandy, but very pretty |

G + Yby ralphComment: I alway like to comment on the images that place much worse than i ranked them, and you are top of the list in this challenge. I had this lovely image in my top 4, along with 2 ribbon winners. It nails the challenge and has lovely textures, a nice sens of drama, and the colors are stunning. IMHO this image was seriously underrated. |
