Ham Stock for Split Pea Soupby Bear_MusicComment: The processing just makes this look evil, like something that would come out of Mr. Dahmer's kitchen, The flecks of color rising out of dark broth, with the fractal sheen of fat dancing across the top. Ill bet it smells great, but the processing makes me think that Kosher might be a good idea. |

Oven-Crisped Bread with Tomato and Fresh Basilby DomDComment: I think the vivid colors of the plate steal the drama from the food. A simpler plate or even a cutting board would have made the bruschetta the soloist, while here it seems to be playing a duette. |

Black Berry Smoothieby SnopawComment: I love the colors, but the cropping seems gratuitously tight. A bit more room for the subject to breath would have helped. |

Pearl Tapioca Pudding and Smoked Tunaby neeshamComment: The tapioca looks great, but the tuna is blown in the highlights, and framed like an after thought. If it has the same lovely lighting and glistening highlights the pudding has, it would be a ribbon winner. |

Seafood Paella by ekmaiComment: Beautiful dish, great set up, my only issue is the flatness of the light in the bowl. I wish you had a bit more contrast and highlights in the bowl to give sparkle and pop. Never the less best of the batch so far |

Filling the Cracksby sk8t969Comment: A few years ago about a dozen of us were trail riding on Mount Diablo and we staked our horses out in the shade and sat down on the ground to eat. A few moments later we discovered we were in a lady bug swarm, millions of these guys were inches thick in the shade, they were up the horses legs, into our food, under our shirts. Pretty creepy. It seems these guys migrate in big swarms through the year, winter in the valley, summer in the mountains |

'Hopperby Yo_SpiffComment: Not sure how this slid so far, I had this slotted for a ribbon. I love the way you made him look like the original "Hopper". |
