Looking for foodby ingvarComment: Great shot, but eating is not a habit. Full marks for the shot, points taken for not responding to the challenge. Glorious light and I love the way the tail and the two spires echo off each other. |

Relaxing after workby bormicComment: The table gives off a double reflection ( Glass on top of polished wood? Anyway double image in the reflection) that creates a jangly vibrancy that cuts against the relaxing feel I think you were going for. Otherwise nice focus and tone. |

Drink, gamble and smokeby gwsallenComment: Nicely composed, good colors and focus. 2 problems, the triangle of white that the pack of smokes leaves leads the eye off the page, and the matching white of the price tag on the scotch is not exactly needed. |

Negligenceby Sparky9001Comment: nice POV but the white balance seems a bit yellow, still interesting composition and a very annoying habit. |

Horseby maelmsComment: I wish you hadn't cropped out the hooves and muzzle, this feels like a part of the shot. |

32 degrees and risingby BrennanOBComment: Thanks for all the kind comments, though I do wish the folks who voted one and two had left a comment too.
I forgot to describe how I set up the shot so in answer to some questions here goes. I bought a large block of ice at the store, which sadly was too milky but next time Ill know, I used a blow torch to create a bowl and poured in about 3 cc of gasoline. I put the block in front of a black backdrop and on sone black paper with a square cut out which was on top of a peice of plexiglass with blue plastic on it to get the cold light, under which was a drop light in a cardboard box. I took the shots centered and cropped them slightly off to give it a less static look. I took about thirty shots over four rounds of adding gas and igniting and was pleased to have not set the garage on fire. |
