Dendrophobia- Fear of Treesby DsealeComment: I would have liked to se more done with the lighting here, the sculpture is a bit flat against such a white backround, and the centered straight ahead view point makes something pretty creepy, a bit too static. |

Inner Sanctumby RikkiComment: I skipped this challenge, but in looking at the placments it seems that simplicity was rewarded, and a total focus on the candle and the light it produces. Much of the impact of this shot is generated by the stained glass windows in contrast to the color of the candle and it's warm light. I would bet it would have scored higher had you eliminated everything not lit by the candles. Message edited by author 2005-12-19 13:51:05. |

from here to eternityby ursulaComment: Nice shot but the refrence to the famous scene may be lost on the younger demographic. Lacking the refrence it is a rather stilted shot, with the refrence it is quite funny |

A Tranquil Reflection by JeanComment: I like the way you handled the horizon line, it makes the image very dreamlike. Nice use of subtle colors, one of the best. |

Two Leafsby MichaelsComment: This is a lovely evocative image that should have placed much higher. Pearls before swine. |

Even feild at the backstretchby BrennanOBComment: Love those last minute entries, if you don't submit the wrong photo you spell the title wrong. Oh well.
Some folks saw the vague blurs as smudges or reflections off a window; Ugly as they are, I disavow most of the blame as they are the vertical elements of the rails, blured into vagueness, I tried to pan even further to lessen them, but couldn't hold the pan that long. Smooth even strokeby cabaComment: if there were just a bit less contrast here or the blacks weren't as blocked up this would be the winner. good find well shot and framed, lacking a bit of focus and those mid tones, but oooh so close.7 |
