Anselby drake217Comment: I wish there were some brighter whites here, nice shot otherwise but with Adams missing the zones is a killer. |

...they said it would be sunny today!!by sajinComment: I gave it a six, zero of possible five points for meeting the challenge, five of five points for quality of the shot, and a bonus point for making one of the most beautiful web reduction shots I have ever seen, just an amazing image. |

Moon, fog and the cityby BrennanOBComment: Originally posted by LA_Sportsman: Is this a combination of three photos/multiple exposure? |
nope, straight shot, un edited. I keep meaning to go in and fix that blown out moon, which bugs me to no end. |

My Favorite Christmas Lightsby jrjrComment: I think you cropped a bit too close to the bottom of the frame, and that the botles bleed into the backround because of two factors, the lighting is too universal, a flash or spot picking them ou would have popped them forward; and the focus is too soft if the bottles were crisper they would have seperated more strongly from the BG which is nicely fuzzy.
The strand of lights woven through the bottle isn't cutting it, too subtle, either bigger lights or brighter lights (longer exposure and don't light the tree for part of the time?) could help, otherwise just loose the strand. |

Chocolate Mooseby idnicComment: I think you hurt yourself with the lighting here. This sort of bright uniform white works well with fur or leather product shots, where the surface is very complex and will carry the image, but the simplicity of the moose needs more dramatic lighting, with a more varied backround. The image is just too static and simple. Had the moose been standing in a pool of mouse rather than bars of chocolate, and the lighing implied a sunset/nature setup, the pun might have run a bit further. |

protocard.jpgby BrennanOBComment: sorry should have posted my steps.
Shot the tree with the ornamnets
shot my wife and daughter
had my wife shoot me ( pathetic expression, but it was the only shot she took and this was a rush job)
Used layesr in photoshop to ease the faces into the ornaments, using multiply and erase mostly.
Emailed the shot to Kinkos and had them 48 hours after taking the first shot.
wasted the next few days trying to find time to write notes.
gave up and mailed out most of them blank. |
