Reposeby LucidLotusComment: simple but effectively dynamic. a lovely and pretty geometric shape - this has been very well done. good piece of abstract that could be hung on a wall. 10. |

Silent Tree For The Singing Birdsby De SousaComment: if this doesn't ribbon, i will stir fry my cat. mind blowingly beautiful image. everything is perfect; particular highlights is the stepped presentation of hands, the lovely complementary background, the lighting, even the border warrants a mention in terms of how well it fits. so creative. even the title is poetic, and surprisingly unpretentious! 10. 15 if i could. |

Japanese Teapotby flip89Comment: this is very lovely, and nicely creative. i love the composition and the clever use of space (rule of sixths, aye?). my only slight criticism is that i wish it was a little brighter, or the colours a little boulder; my preconceived expectations would be for a very red rather than maroon tea pot. it's still a very nice shot though - 8. |

Balanceby pidgeComment: though this appears to be a popular subject for the challenge, it's been done so professionally and wonderfully that this really does stand out for me. the mix of greys are visually very appealing - go you for not resorting to a jet black background. the lighting is superb; i love how it brings out the texture of the rocks in such a tangible touchable way. the mix of light and shadows also gives it an unearthly asteroid-like feel too. gorgeous - 10 |

Well-worn Favoritesby moniepennyComment: i gave this a nine. i love the aged look of the shoes, and how you have managed to capture and relay that so well. it's a seemingly simplictic set up really, but it's also something of real beauty. it fits the challenge and is a wonderful, wall mountable shot. |

Almost Humanby scalvertComment: very very nice. the noise level and texture of this shot gives it an almost painted feel; also the lighting is very pleasing. only criticism is that i kind of wished both eyes were equally sharp and detailed; but it's a minor quibble. i love the close crop, the feel of the picture, and the almost smiliness of the face. really cute too. 9. |

Passionby ReveccaComment: i like the narrow crop very much, but the curvature from the lens, and also the slightly wonkiness of the keyboard lessens the impact a bit. also, the middle keys seems to have grey splodges (might be my screen though) - needs a bit of noidr reduction. very nice concept though. 4. |

Vendala in Blackby sabrizzComment: this actually looking much more striking as a thumbnail; it's let down a little bit by the soft focus on the head of the flower (unsharp mask would have overcome this a little). the choice of background colour is superb; very unconventional i think but very effective - it's a nicely composed set up. sadly, it doesn't fit into my interpretation of the challenge (i think it's all supposed to appear to look B&W). but it's still very lovely, and certainly has that wowness i like - so an 8 |

snoops knows how to readby grisstxsComment: this is by far my favourite of the week. it's so interestingly done. the mad background, the striking use and mix of soft and sharp focus, the fantastic application of black and white; it's all very inspirng stuff. it is so creative; i honestly can't remember anything else looking remotely like this shot. i would love to know your thought processes on this :) "hmmm, black and white? snoopy is black and white. i know! stick him in a book!" absolute genius. hope it wins. 10 |

The Fabric Merchantby kervinchongComment: i love this! it's like a little world in there - so much to take in and enjoy and i think it was a very creative angle on the challenge. i would have liked it more i think if it was a bit more panoramic; the ceiling tiles don't really fit in the style of the shot either. and i would have liked to have the man himself a little sharper. but overall, i think this is excellent, and is deserving of a higher score than what it got. |
