Countrysideby marboComment: superb, beautiful, gorgeous, lovely. stunning. not sure if it is very zen (have to dock a point for that), but i do like this a lot. the sky! it's wonderful. 9. |

The Artists Colonyby JulolidineComment: i love the building, and i love the overall feel of this image. my only wish is that the rocking horse wasn't in it as it's tips it into the category of being a tad too cluttered. I think the slightly discoloured aspect of the ground, the greenery and the pale slide works tremendously well. only other slight thing is that the horizon looks a bit wonky. other than that, very nice. 8. |

Over and Underby Nikolai1024Comment: it's nice, but the number of people kind of ruins the harmonious qualities of being pushes around in a gondola. also the shadow on half the bridge is a little unfortunate, though the picture is nicely sharp with clear details on the parapet. it's not an unattractive picture, and it has plenty of bits to keep the viewer interested, but it just doesn't have that wow factor. 6. |

Sea Breezeby anthonyczajaComment: the lighting and colours in this is really lovely. it feels contemplative, but happy; there is a peaceful joy here which i think is a lovely intepretation of zen. it also feels so completely professional; a choice shot for any tourist agent. superb - 10. |

Going the Zen wayby jjbeguinComment: this is a marvellously evocative picture. it's only significant problem worth noting is that to me, it doesn't really fit in with my preconceived idea of what zen is. but as a photo, i love it. the B&W is great, the high contrast and dark mood genius, brilliantly countered by the light breaking through the clouds. the vanishing point and angle of shot works very well. and the solitary vehicle coming towards us is the proverbial cherry. smashing stuff (if bordering on not quite suiting the challenge) 8. |

Cool Riverby timfythetooComment: very lovely infrared shot... i love the reflections in and smoothness of the water, and the bridge looks great. the tower block is a bit of an eyesore, but it doesn't detract from the impact overtly. there does also appear to be a highish level of noise in the blues, but overall it's a nice effectively done example of IR photography. and a bit zen-ish too. 7. |

sssshhhhhhhhh....by ericwooComment: this has been taken from a very good viewpoint. composition is great. the greens on most of the trees is visually appealing, though there are some (well, three) odd not quite green greyish patches which look smokey. a slight burn or sponge might have got rid of those. i like how it looks there's a haze over the water. very pretty - 8 |

Serenity by AlexSaberiComment: this has serenity coming out of its ears. it's very gorgeous and lovely. i love the deep blues, the calmness of the water, and the hazy blurry background. there is a slight halo effect around the back and the neck of the swan which is a bit off putting, but that aside a stunning piece of visual art. though, from the ripple in the water it looks like he is reversing.... still, great, moody, tranquil, very zenny. 9. |

What Do You See?by JPRComment: there are many elements i love about this; the bold red colours are the first obvious attraction, and then so is the geometry and composition of the shot. it does feel a bit zen to me too; the slightly oriental feel is apparent (maybe it's the communist red and the abstractedness of lines?). i can't decide if the biord actually improves or detracts from the shot, though. still, a grand picture. 9. |

The Stillness of The Hunterby Delta_6Comment: you're having a laugh obviously; no one seriously thinks blasting cute furry animals with a big massive gun comes close to even a wild approximation of the concept of zen. harmony? technically i feel the picture is a little claustrophobic, and the lighting feels harsh... 3. |
