i had given this an 8. i suspect you're gonna get hammered for the blur, i personally feel it adds a sense of realism, drama, urgency, and makes it all the more dynamic. it almost feels like one of those scoop spy shots you see published. i love that there are very few real colours in this picture, that the silvers and greys go together really very well. well done.

nice perspective - i like how the lines on the roof and the road does in the same direction. the miniature size of the picture kind of goes well with the size of the transport, and it's exudes a fun cuteness. but in a truly practical sense, it's a bit too small, really. 6.

whilst browsing the thumbnails this struck me as something rather special straight away. it's noticeably different and creative - i especially love how it's composed with the matching boot being in the soft background... kind of like a rock photo... i don't, the way you've captured this give the skates some sort of personality; a don't bitch with me attitude too. really cool shot - 10.

this is a great classic car picture; should be printed as a big poster in some retro cafe! i love the great use of the depth of field; it's so brilliantly composed. the lines of light and dark are very pleasing, and the clumpy look of the soil is just super. the border though not to my taste is quite effective. it's a perfect shot, so gets a 10.

SO completely in two minds about this! by rights this sort of editting should make a photo stink, but, by gods, it works! i think it would be more effective if the cars weren't in the shot, and the background is uninspiringly dull to say the least, but the actually trolley and road surface and yellow lines all work together very effectively. the way the trolley glows with a yellow halo makes it seem, well, almost holy in a biblical manner. i can hear choirs of angels going "laaa!". 8.

really cool great stuff. the roof is astonishingly gorgeous, almost like a pencil drawing. it's very metropolis and stylish, which is only enhanced by the shadow cast by the train. the train itself is nicely blurred, and i like that it seems totally devoid of humans (as is the platform) which adds a certain menace about it. i think i might have cropped half an inch off the bottom, but other than that, this is really super. 10.

i like this one a lot. i love how the joint in the rear panels is right along the horizon of the background; genius bit of timing that. this also a picture that really rewards the longer viewing, there's so much to it. i love how the sky is reflected, and the road in a slightly distorted way. composition is really good too - just off to the side, allowing us to see the road and traffic coming the other way works well; interesting to look at but not distracting. i do wish it was advanced editing so you could clone yourself out of it (guessing it's a honda cr-v?). nice, feels very road movie. 8.

a bit more care in the crop and rotate thing is needed here! a derelict old bus always makes good subject matter, and it has been captured well here - the sad feeling of abandonment is really strong. slight criticisms is that i kind of wish the sky wasn't as dull as it is, i feel for something like this stepping back a bit more to show of the environment might be nice, and the angle is a bit conventional to truely stand out head and shoulders above the others. but it is steeped in mood, fits the challenge, and i like the post processing. 7.

as soon as this popped up, i thought, wow, like it! i love the small proportions of the picture; usually a small picture looks a bit dopey compared to all the other submissions, but this time it just looks completely right. i love the tight crop, approve of the high contrast, and generally just love it. the title is perfect too - it really does have a happy demeanour and style... feels like a nod to happier times and era's, really. excellent picture, and kudos on the bravery regarding the size. 10.

the fact that the strawberry is covered in milk already kind of suggests that this is following a number of attempts to get it right, which kind of lessens the wow! impressed! factor. if it was a clean virgin strawberry, then i think it would be more striking. the other thing i would add is that the lighting seems to strong, pretty much wiping out the crown you get from the splosh. it's still a decent capture, nice and sharp, and certainly fits the challenge. 5.
