I can't really say what I don't like about it because there really isn't much there to not like. The empty space isn't bad if there is a good subject, but sadly the empty space is the best part of the photo.

Interesting subject, but your take on it isn't very interesting. Maybe an angle from standing on one of the rocks and not getting the whole thing in frame?

Very snapshot-ish. The shadows are distracting. A close up of the hub with the hose as a background would be much more effective.

Very simple and effective. Great use of rule of thirds, angle and DOF. A good lesson on how something simple can be made into a really good photo.
