This is a really beautiful picture and a great example of back lighting. It's a shame the feet are cut off. Also, the person in behind, although with a shallow DOF, is a bit distracting and doesn't add anything to the image. But overall a really good job.

This concept is brilliant. I love what you've done here. It's so unique and stands out from the rest. There are some great shots in this challenge, but you are the only one who decided to do something unconventional. Plus, it's really well composed. Bravo!

This must have been a challenging shot to take. A few quick notes: never compose a photo with something distracting from your subject. Your eye should be drawn to the subject only and then be able to move around the image. Right now, my eye is drawn to the sideways tree with the ribbon and not the subject. Also, think of your "canvas" as divided into threes. Try to compose the main subject so it shows in one third of your image, not in the dead center. You can fix this by cropping in PhotoShop after the fact if your camera has troubles with focus. Also, the half-cut man on the left doesn't add anything to this image. In the future probably a good idea to crop this kind of thing out. I realize fast sports shots aren't the easiest - esp. in the dark woods. Changing composition like this move your score from a 4 to a 6 or even a 7! Another quick note... although I may be just seeing things incorrectly on my screen (a possibility), the image seems a bit grainy in the darker parts. This may suggest you increased the ISO slightly. YOu may get better results decreasing ISO (for grain factor). My last digital camera used to react like this a bit and I had to keep the ISO at 80, even in dark situations. But I could be seeing things wrong so ignore if this is the case. Good luck in future challenges.

ONe of the best I've seen in any challenge ever. IF you don't get first place I'll be totally surprised. Amazing job. I love that it's original, fits the challenge, plus it's pitch perfect photography. Lighting, composition, everything is perfect.

I think this is the best composition I've seen so far in this macro challenge. I really love the way you balanced the shot. the colours are amazing. Also, I like that you move the eye from the bee to the background rather than having the bee look straight at you. I find it amazing that this is your first macro shot. You obv. have a knack for this. I'm giving it a 10. I wonder if people will mark you down (just subconsciously) for saying it's your first macro though. I once put something similar in my title (I think I said unedited) and got totally burned. one guy said he marked me down for ruining my title. Hope that doesn't happen to you. This is a ribbon shot if i ever saw one.

A really awesome idea for this challenge! The only thing i really notice is that there seems to be a lot of noise and compression artifacts in teh photo which almost make it look like it's not quite in focus. It may have been when you resized. The colours are really good though - esp. in the flag- they really stand out. I also like the shallow DOF. - 8

I love the lines and movement in this scene. I especially love captures of rainy days and you really captured a bit of a mood here - quite a bit of drama, actually which is enhanced by the sky, the headlights, the wet pavement, etc. Excellent 10

Oh man! This is definitely one of the best. I predict a ribbon. This has great lines and movement. A really nice capture and you really got great depth, awesome tones adn colours and contrast. Just a brilliant composition. I'm sure you didn't have long to compose so that makes it even better 10
