lunar eclipse by streetlightby theonemuleComment: Hello from the critique club,
A very creative shot with a cool title. The moon behind the unlit streetlamp gives it an eerie luminosity that makes you look twice. I like the composition with the negative space filling the bottom and middle of the frame. It gives the image a great sense of height.
I like the way the perspective distorts the vertical line of the street lamp. I might have exaggerated it with a little more tilt and having the lamp meet the bottom corner of the frame. Other than that, I can't think of much that I would suggest to change this.
I think your score probably suffereed because the 'shadow' is not obviously the subject of the image. I think this should have scored higher.

Zoeby BlackNewfsComment: I love the sharpness of the dog with the out of focus foreground and background. Definitely nice bokeh. I would have liked a little more space on the left side of the frame, so that the dog was not so centered. 7 from me. |

Libertyby mbmcnabbComment: The lighting in this image made it so that the whites on the bottom corner of the flag are quite a bit brighter than the hood of the eagle. Alas, basic editing. I might have considered blowing the whites on the flag in order to get the exposure up on the eagle. He looks underexposed. |

The Dandelion Fairyby agwrightComment: This is beautiful, but looks very flat and underexposed to me. Curves or levels could really make this one pop. I love your DOF here. |

The Boyby CalliopeKelComment: Wow! What an expressive look you captured here. I am drawn right in. Stunning. I think I would burn down the right side of the frame (his mom) a little, especially the bright spot in the upper corner. |

Soarby SJCarterComment: Lovely. I love her running with the one leg up. Her hair blowing really shows the wind (of course, for a kite-flying day), but I really glad we can still see her great smile, too. THe line of the string and her arms is very cool. |

"Brother, What is it?"by asmithphotosComment: You captured a nice moment between the two boys here. I love the eylashes on the older brother. It looks like you used your on camera flash here. Flash is awfully harsh and flat light here. Try turning it off and increasing your ISO or opening your aperature to take the shot with jsut the ambient light. |

daisys.jpgby JewellianComment: I like that, mixed in among the flowers, there are the strong vertical lines of the daisy-less stems. I think it makes the image even more interesting to look at. Nice job finding a good arrangement of flowers for the foreground to be in focus. I think the two flowers in the lower left corner balance the focal flower in the upper right. |

Little Explorerby SeanachaiComment: I love the blurred background, but I think that it would have been better to have enough DOF to have his cute little feet in focus, too. CUte shot. I like the texture of the sand (on the beach and on him :) |
