This is a really vivid, gorgeous shot. The dark tones and the fog in the background result in a very powerful feel. It may have looked better a little more exposed, but I think that it is probably better how it is.
The composition is excellent, the location is beautiful, the perspective from above is nice.
Depending on how the rest of the beach/sea looks, a wider angle may have been a little more effective. As it is, the frame feels just a little cramped.
really a breathtaking shot. Excellent job.

First of all, this is a really great idea, getting a really neat upward perspective on a very photogenic tree.
The white cloud in the upper left corner looks blown out, but it's a white cloud, so there's not really much you could have done except wait till the wind moved it away.
When taking shots of a long (tall) subject that you want in focus, it helps to use the smallest possible aperture to keep the as much as possible in focus, probably f8 unless your camera can go smaller.
In terms of composition, I like the second tree in the photo, but it may have been better to put the top of the main tree following the rule of thirds, not quite as close to the top right corner.
It looks like there is a nail sticking out of the base of the tree, but I'm not sure.
Over all, a very nice shot.

This is really interesting. I really like the way that the reflected room is distorted. It was important in this photo to try to keep both the bulb and the room in focus, and the f8 aperture that you used seems to have been the correct approach.
The black background was also very smart, as it caused the reflection in the bulb to be a defined as possible.
Now for my only complaint: The room that is reflected. While it works, this shot would have been much stronger reflecting a different room, such as a lighter room to better contrast the black background, or a long hallway to really accentuate the distortion.
I see the photographer's head in the photo as well. You could have tried setting the camera on a tripod, and setting the timer, and then get out of the frame before the shot is taken. The tripod and camera would probably be obscured by the insides of the bulb enough to be harder to notice.
Overall, a very neat idea with relatively good execution. nice job.

This is an interesting interpritation of the challenge. I think that my biggest complaint would be the fact that this photograph seems to have no focal point. It makes the viewers eyes jump around over the image without actually finding something to look at. What I think is neat about the image is how the lower looking leaves look like they are flowing, which is a neat effect. Depending on how high up you were, I would imagine that the image that would show perspective the best may be a photo looking downward.
I think that the focus seems to be on the foreground, like the branches near the lower left hand corner of the photo, and the upper right hand corner is out of focus, and a bit gray looking.
Maby instead of trying to capture the whole secene, try taking a closeup shot of a single clump of leaves, and experiment with the patterns. |

In hindsight, I probably shuld have cropped out the area above the swing, but why I chose not to (I had considered it) was because without any negative space above, it looks like my sister is just going to bump into the top of the frame, dulling the action. I was also afraid that people may not realize that it's a swing if they couldn't tell that it was a beam instead of a wall. |
