What a fabulous image !
Simple and powerful at the same time...the introduction of the child on the steps really adds so much to the overall effect(for me).

I`m starting to lose count of the number of 4th places you have had..(around your 4th perhaps?)

I didn`t vote in this challenge but knowing how you previously felt about "selective desat", I doubt if I would have picked this out as your submission on that basis alone.

Personally,I think you have produced the perfect backdrop for the watch.
The colour tones and textures of the background are interesting in themselves but do not overpower the subject.
Would have worked just as well for me without text.

Very effective approach to the subject...the shallow DOF giving the stone more prominance.
The text will be seen as a welcome addition by some and a hindrance by others depending on taste...but it works for me.
