Anxiousby PedroComment: GREAT amigo. You are indeed gettin on the next level of your photography. After being an A-class, what's next?
The distortion is very clever. It adds a lot of story and message. Toning is bang on. I salute you...you're the winner.

Eye for Colours by librodoComment: Originally posted by scalvert: Two days ago, my wife and I were discussing the ribbon standings, and I pointed out that I might have an advantage because none of the current challenges were suited to portraiture. So not only did you prove me completely wrong, you did it with a well-deserved blue and a 7+ score. ROFL!
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go torture some kittens or something. ;-) |
Shannon, I was just lucky. I don't have your creativity and imagination. Mine is just a copy from a box cover. But yours are always original. And you have the record of not leaving the dpchallenge's homepage for how many weeks now? Anyway...I think we inspire each other. |

chocolate by ursulaComment: YOU are on a roll!. CONGRATULATIONS!
I like this colored version more. The biggest asset of this picture is the composition. Very graphic. You have a good technique in composing your shots.

Eye for Colours by librodoComment: LOL....for those who commented about a woman standing somewhere, you're right. I took a lot of shots along with this shot and this is one of them.
Anyway...Sally helped me set up this shot.During lunchbreak in school, I requested a friend to sharpen the pencils, I laid them down on the floor (with a black velvet cloth as a base), then asked Warren (and later on Sally) to arrange them in the same manner as shown in the box of the Prismacolors pencil. Not an original idea. But I really went down on the floor to take the shot. Unlike the box picture which was taken from the top, I experimented on the DOF and the angle. An dthe rest is history.
Many thanks for the votes.

Make-Believeby librodoComment: Wow...surprise. I never thought this will be in the top 10. I owe it all to Maya, her mom, and Sally for setting this up for me.
She's in my top ten circle. The first time I had her, I won a yellow. Here's the pic.
Thanks Maya. Message edited by author 2005-12-06 08:40:29. |

Dreamscapeby FloffyComment: AMAZING. Just discovered your portfolio....your works breathe passion. you have a unique style. I wish I can post-process pictures like you.
However, you have also good compositional skills. But I must say tha you are a genius in post-processing. I am a fan.
This work encapsulates the above observation. I am looking forward to more.
