Stunning! Is that the waterfall one often sees in pics with a "human" (or dog, or whatever) in front for "scale"? It is massive, right? When I first saw an image of it with the human element I thought it was a composite :-D. Its a bucket list item ... (I need a second life to get through my bucket list the rate I am going ...:-))

I had been admiring the work of Claudio Piccoli https://www.claudiopiccoli.com/dogphotography , but just couldn't justify the cost of a workshop/training course with him. So I took it as a challenge, that "I can do this" :-D. Believe me, there were MANY, MANY shots that went into the bin. Plus I am lucky that my Girls are well trained and especially Flumi is willing to do stuff over and over :-).

I shot this in a studio set up. A softbox from left top, a GoDox flash without modifiers (because I haven't got one for the flash) from the right. If you look closely you can see the 2 light sources in her left eye.
It's the flash that created the shadows, and honestly it was a fluke. I wanted the dog to be "evenly lit", hence the 2 lights. I think I even had a white sheet on the floor as a reflector and my ceiling in the room is fairly low and also white.
I used my 50 mm Canon lens on f 11, 1/200.
