Kool-aid in a glass? I'm not sure what this is, but I think I like it. I would havel liked it better had you managed to get the wood out of the shot.

The Rose

It's a nice flower, but the color is not very rich and I wouldn't call it red myself. Flower shots aren't very original, especially roses in a challenge called "red", so you have to really pull off a great looking photo to impress me with this type of shot. I think it's a nice photo, but not terribly appropriate for the challenge.

How Bout Them Apples!

I don't think using the flash was the best idea here. The red is sort of bland, and the arrangement of the apples isn't terribly exciting. But I do like apples.

This is one of my favorites. I think I would have liked it better had the front been more in focus, since that's where most of the red is. I like the idea and I like the colors, and I'm not so sure about this, but I think it would have been nicer if you could get the rich colors without so many specular highlights.

The smears are great. I don't know why everyone says it should be polished. The smears give me a feeling of motion, like the hairs of the horse being blown back by the wind.
