Pippinby MondComment: i'm not quite sure what i think with this image, it's simple and accurate, it's unassuming but still manages to grab your eyes and demand attention. i think the "infinitely black background" is what's giving me pause here, we have a (until very recently) healthy specimen, radiating out to the world with everything it has, enticing you in, but then floating in oblivion.
one may make correlations to the meaning of life or planets floating in space, butfor me it's just very stark and seems out of place.
i want to give this more (and i may come back to do so after finishing), but i'm going to give this a 6 for now. |

Wings of Changeby doc_alfieComment: lots of different things being seen here when i look at this, and that is a credit to you for producing an image that is both simple and intriguing.

From Paris, with loveby StanleyDComment: i have to say that the short stature of this image leaves me feeling like i'm only getting half an image.
nice capture of the building, and I would love to visit some day, but this just isn't hitting the spot today.

Natural symmetryby clickodakComment: simple and effective.
i'm guessing clean-up from this was quick and delicious :)

you-shall-not-passby RobskiComment: i've ended up with this on my screen for several minutes as a result of software installs happening on computers here in the lab at work...i keep looking back and find myself unsure how to comment adequately. i Like this image, but i don't know how much i LIKE this image. It's the two whatever-they-are in the front (breakwalls?). I can't determine if i like them or not. the image feels incomplete without them, but it's all my brain wants to acknowledge when looking at the image otherwise, and i don't like that it's taking my focus away from the lighthouse.
i'd give this a 7.5 if that was an option, but as it's not you get rounded up to an 8 :) |

take me with you, no matter where you goby EpsiComment: this has me truly perplexed how you created this eye-catching piece of art. it looks like there are multiple image captures here, perhaps a long exposure with something covering the lens between positionings.
I want to come back to this later and spend some more time trying to unravel it's mystery. |

inceptionby mefnjComment: Well this certainly stands out from the pack, and that is not a bad thing.
I would truly love to see the full image without the cropped top/bottom for the rings to be complete, but the forced perspective into the inner ring will certainly throw people off enough to demand more attention (and isn't that what art is about? Standing up and screaming Look at Me, Over Here, Pay Attention!!).
I love the title and the sense of imagination this creates: what is forming? how large or small are we seeing here? is this the cause of great wonder or great worry?
I love this image and hope to see it ending high.

Chessby StagoleeComment: Love the figures in this chess set and the setup of the players on the board.
Personally I may have gone for a slightly tighter crop, but then again i'm not exactly known for my dpc-lauded images.

after workby jmritzComment: I'm quite enjoying this entry and it looks very familiar (though that could be just because of the haze making the hill look quite generic).
The layers of symmetry work well here, and though not identical, they are still symmetrical and pleasing to the eye.
I hope this does well, but sadly I feel this will be missed by many.

If these eyes could seeby franktheyankComment: this would honestly feel a lot more symmetrical to me if your hands were not mucking about in the picture throwing a tilt on my perspective. you have introduced a second variable that you have tried to make symmetrical, and mostly succeeded in, but they are not symmetrically placed around the skull and it comes off feeling disjointed.
The primary subject is definitely interesting enough to stand on its own and i feel you are going to lose points on this for the above stated reasons.
a 6 from me, probably would've been an 8 or 9 without the hands |
