one of my two highest (both 9s). this is a superb capture, the colours are amazingly muted pastels and look like a painting, and the spider looks almost crystalline.
this image has certainly put a spell on me...

i wouldn't have necessarily used the same color-background, they tend to blend in a bit too much, it's especially noticable with the greens jumping out of the yellow/purple bg sections

glad Jo was able to see the same look in their face that had me decide this one went into abandoned, while my vintage shot went there...i figured this wouldn't do well in either, what with the woman in white as CEJ pointed out, and the crop looked bad to me when she was removed...

i really did feel that these men had a look of defeated/abandonment in their faces...anyways, 2 images left from that day left to finish scoring ;)

*trying* would mean it required explanation, It is fairly straightforward and was received without requests for context by anybody, so i would say it succeded.
As for putting more time into it, there was not really much point as it succeeded in its intended purpose exactly as it existed, not everybody sees the need to change things into something they were not intended to be for the sake of other people. :)
