Picnicby DennisheckmanComment: i love that the model still feels straight, despite the incredibly skewed angle of the ground. :) |

Densityby CuttoothComment: even with muted tones you make this place look beautiful.
i'm sure we'll be seeing this on the front page next week :) |

confessionby mariucaComment: This was definitely one of the two most thought provoking/interesting entries (the other being, in my opnion, Pueblo), and the only reason that i scored this as a 9 and not a 10 is the few horizontal reflections from shooting through the glass.
The fact that this is seemingly an impromptu scene you found has a large amount of charm to it, and speaks volumes of your ability to get this shot before the man noticed you, but the highlights showing through also serve to break me out being lost in the image as well, i keep seeing the lines and it pulls me back just enough to keep from feeling that i am fully engaging with this man - that there will always be a pane of glass separating (and even insulating) him from everything else.
That said, it's why it's a 9 and not a 10, but this is definitely worthy of the 5 or 6 viewings i have given it, and I have also given it a mark as a favorite, because it deserves it for everything it is, and for everything that some of the other entries aren't. |

memories of futureby TiberiusComment: i love the looks here - the girl looks actuely interested in what the guy is thinking, trying to read him, genuinely concerned with what he has to say, and he has a look on his face that speaks of carefree afternoons spent just laying about, not contemplating whatever it is that the girl wants him to be contemplating.
for the style of odreiw specifically, the image is off balance with muted tones, drawing you to the faces of your human subjects, but with the legs raised in a defense manner telling you to stay back and not be drawn in, so you did a good job in the dichotomy that i find in his images - the push/pull and seeming intentional unbalancing of the viewer.
i'm giving this a 10 |

the doorwayby doodlesComment: when i see this, all i can see is the monolith from 2001, and like it, this is an image that may cause some violent reactions from voters, while opening the eyes of others to look at the world differently.
well...maybe not the last one, but it will definitely draw some repeat viewings :) |

Puebloby franktheyankComment: this one made me stop, and truly take in what this picture is. i didn't even realize it at first, it was just so engrossing.
there is not an element of this composition that does not pour character and demand your attention to tell you tales.
i'm afraid that this will be overlooked by many of the voters (i sincerely hope not, i'd love to see this finish in the top 10!), but you're getting a fave and a wish-list check from me because i can't think of anything i can do on here to give higher marks along with the 10 that you're getting.

handscapeby cutoutComment: in the beginning, everything was a blurry handscape. And the lord spoke and said "let there be light" and there was light, and it was good. ;)
