Collisionby thatcloudthereComment: there may be a couple reasons that it not do as well as you had hoped. one, as other people have addressed, is the fact that it is a style of photograph (high contrast, blown out highlights, unique composition/cropping, etc) that some will like and some will dislike. a second part is that, like you mention in your description, people may not have been sure what to look at - which is somewhat reflected in some of the comments. it took me awhile to realize that the car was damaged (and i never would have caught the fact that it was pulled out of the ditch, if not for e301's comment), which in turn means that i didn't understand the message right away either. this is one that people are either gonna love or hate. Red Ornamentby JuneBug28Comment: very interesting feel here - the first image i've seen, so i'll have to come back - but i do like the foreground as well as the overexposed background. creative. |

Broken Woody (Natural)by Pug-HComment: although the pencils look properly colored, the background looks like it has some kind of yellow tint. eliminate that either prior to shooting or in an editing program and you'd definitely gain a lot in appeal. |

Blownby riotspyneComment: blown in more ways than one (ie: out). although i normally don't like this, you seem to have done something interesting with it and it doesn't necessarily work against you here - kind of creates a unique feel/look, but may have preferred just a slightly higher crop on the bottom since there isn't much detail. |

Winter Sceneby ColeyComment: very interesting and beautiful. people may complain that it looks a little blown out in the right section, but i guess it's more detail than it would be in a indoor studio! great find. |

Shattered Dreamsby BeetleComment: powerful representation, thought not sure i like the color for the pen. the rings work, but not sure if the red on the pen benefits (for balance) or detracts. |

Broken Linksby Zap228Comment: very interesting and compelling find. wish the background was slightly more out of focus, but not sure if that was possible for you at the time. nice work. |

Fly the Flagby NodeComment: wow. powerful image. sky looks a bit artificial, but i really like your choice to silhouette here. |

Drivenby bpickardComment: very interesting feel. looks like someone had a big accident (i'm guessing that bullets don't quite shatter to that degree) and is speeding off to get away. what's interesting is that the rest of the car looks untouched (perhaps a missing symbol/emblem in the circle on the hood, but it may just be really faint). |
