Sunset at Siphon's Drawby ArtifactsComment: This is amazing! The colors are PHENOMENAL. The soft focus really adds to the tranquility and peacefulness in this scene. I am a sucker for sunrise and sunset photos. The motivates me to redecorate my living room and incorp a southwest theme so that this photo would work there. Wow. -10- |

Feeding The Sensesby ToddhComment: This photo is close to being really good.
There are a couple of things that could be improved.
The graininess is really going to hurt your score this time. There is a program called neat image that should help some.
the reflection on the top of the lid is distracting. The food in the pot is not visually appealing. It took me a while to figure out what was going on there. Perhaps a creamy white soup with some green parsley or carrots or something with a bit more color if you where intending for the food to be seen.
The wine bottle in the back is reflecting a lot of light. I understand the intention of it being there but, it is so much brighter than the rest of the photo, it pulls the eye away from the main subject.
Over all the lighting is good, skin tones are good. If it were not so grainy I believe the focus would be good as well.

Suddenly, a bad hair dayby jmritzComment: Is that your pet crow?
The blurred background works here. It helps to keep the focus on what is goin on in the picture.
Good Job. |

A bit overexposed, but I still love the surprise element.

Splash! by arnitComment: I have been staring at this photo and it's driving me nuts.
1st off let me say, this is an excellent capture. Lighting is good, white balance, focus, the whole 9 yards. Wonderful.
Now, here is what I cannot seem to figure out. You have a near complete black background. This does not look like harsh flash, and I KNOW you where not tossing water buckets around your studio... Please share how you got such rich true color.
Lastly, I see from his hair that this was most likely not staged. Good Job.

Light As A Featherby channeledComment: I cannot believe you placed last. I do not think people took the time to look at this to get the feel for what you where going for. The pun may have thrown them off. This photo was by far better technically than many that placed higher and it was for certain leaps and bounds better than many other poor examples of literalism.
You should have placed much much better.

One Red Centby fdpiechComment: Love the composition. Clever idea. The glare on the left is a bit distracting. -7- |
